If you want to connect our PS/2 GPS receiver to your PC or Notebook, you must get a PS/2-USB converting cable from us, and plug the GPS receiver to the USB Port (not PS/2 port for keyboard/ mouse) of your computer - AFTER you have installed the driver for the converting cable. Please make the following installation & setting, before you connect GPS201 + PS2-USB converting cable to the USB port of your computer.

1. Find the CD delivered with each unit of our GPS receiver, and put it in the CD Drive.
2. Open the CD, you can find "GPS1xx/ GPS2xx Tester" folder; "USB Driver" folder...

Q: Why my GPS receiver can not communicate with my computer?

1. Make sure the GPS Baud rate is set correctly (4800 or 9600).
2. Set GPS NMEA to 0183B. M
3. Set COM port to 4800 baud, 8 bits per second, no parity, one stop bit.
4. Disable or remove any conflicting software from the COM port.

Q: Why my GPS receiver can not track the satellites?

1. GPS receiver can work only under open sky; it can not receive GPS signal indoors.

2. Check the initial position, time and date shown in the GPS display, make sure they  are correct.

3. Initialization can take up to 10 minutes with a clear view of the sky.

Q: Why my GPS receiver needs long time to track the satellites?

It is possibly because the GPS microwave is too feeble. The influence of the satellites microwave on GPS reception is occasionally non-predicable. Different time/ different place, the microwave’s intensity will be different.

Q: Can my GPS receiver work under bad weather?

GPS works 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world. It will be not affected by the bad weather.

Q: What kind of e-map I should use for my GPS navigation?

Generally speaking, our GPS products are compatible with the e-map/ navigation software which support NMEA 0183 and WGS84. Please choose the navigation e-map accordingly.
